This project aims to perform an analysis and assessment of the main phases of development the of Bracara Augusta in articulation with its territory, between the first century and the end of Late Antiquity.
A diachronic analysis of urban-rural landscapes relationship, which allows us to formalize a wide range of issues concerning:
- the role of indigenous people within the evolution of urban or rural context,
- the changes of settlement and resources exploitation
- the impact of the town on the surrounding territories
- the regional effects of the third century crisis
- impact of the Diocletian reforms and of the Sueves domain of Galaecia from the fifth century onwards.
